The Unleash Your Life Program will take you through the following seven steps to get on track in creating the life you want to live.
  1. Get Clear About What You REALLY Want
What is it you really want to achieve in your life – for yourself and your family? Who is it you really want to be – not only as a great mom for your children but for yourself? You are someone beside being a ‘mom’ although you may have forgotten who that is. Here we spend some time focused on your identity as both a mom and a woman. We work together to get clear on what you value most because unless you’re clear about what you’re most committed to, how can you make good choices in what you commit to?

  2. Uncover Your Stories, Overcome Your Obstacles
Here we explore how you can overcome the obstacles which stand in the way of you accomplishing your goals. You learn how your ‘stories’ about what’s possible for you may be limiting you. We look at why you are ‘putting up with’ the things that cause you to feel stress, resentment, frustration, annoyance, exhaustion and guilt. After all, the quality of your excuses determines the quality of your life. Whether you want more or less of something in your life, there are ways of achieving it. Every obstacle is really just an opportunity in disguise waiting you to look at it from a new perspective.

  3. Take Off Your “Super Mom” Cape
There is no such thing as a perfect mom! She doesn’t exist. So don’t go beating yourself up every time you fail to live up to the prototype super mom that exists only in your imagination and on the magazine covers (they airbrush you know?!). Sure praise is always nice, though a chorus of accolades about how great a mom you are will never be enough if you’re dependent on approval and praise from others.

Being a great mom, more than anything else, is about being the kind of role model that supports and inspires your children to being the best they can be and making the most of their own unique talents and gifts. It isn’t about winning a competition. Pushing your kids to be doing more and better than others is huge burden that doesn’t serve them or you (though it may temporarily serve your ego). If you’re always looking at what your neighbor is doing to judge how well you’re faring yourself, then you’ve got to let go of your ego’s bottomless desire to be out-do and impress. Instead, you should believe in yourself and trust your own intuition that you know what is best for your kids, and no one else.

  4. Step Into Action
Being totally focused on your kids, to the exclusion of everything else, is not healthy and it doesn’t serve anybody! Whether you’re at work or at home, you need to have goals, pursuits and interests that excite and inspire you. Here we clarify and break down your goals – personal and professional - into smaller ‘bit size’ pieces and get you stepping into action to achieving them. Whether to get into ‘pre baby’ shape, to stay fit, to reduce your stress levels by simplifying your life, to further your career, to start your own business, to start a new hobby or to just “get out more”, we get you on the path and hold you accountable.

  5. Strengthen Your Relationships; Improve Your Communication
Strong and loving relationships lie at the heart of a strong and loving family and honest and open communication is the life blood of your relationships. If you often find yourself regularly involved in heated conflict or withdrawing to silence about issues, then it will be undermining the environment you want to create for your family (since what is adequately ‘talked out’ is ultimately ‘ acted out’). Here you learn invaluable skills which will enable you to effectively engage in conversations about ‘sensitive’ or emotional issues in ways that build, rather than erode, trust and mutual respect. We also find times that will work for you and your partner to have uninterrupted and meaningful conversations away from your children.

  6. Practice Loving Selfishness
Although we can often ‘get away’ with not investing time in ourselves in the short term, in the longer term it catches up with us and everyone in our family has to pay the price (often your spouse is first on the “hit list”). So regardless of how busy you are, it is ultimately your choice about whether you incorporate regular and sustainable self-care – physical, mental, emotional & spiritual - into your busy life. Here we look at giving yourself ‘permission’, overcoming ‘mothers guilt’ and scheduling “time out” into your busy day and week for looking after you!

  7. Create An Environment That Allows You To Enjoy The Journey Of Motherhood
Every mom knows that even the best of intentions isn’t always enough to stay on track… raising kids can be exhausting. We all need ongoing support, encouragement and accountability throughout our lives. We focus on how you can create an environment and support systems to keep you on track and moving forward even when you feel like throwing in the towel and ‘running away from home’. We also look at how you can simplify your life and handle the demands of running a family in a way that doesn’t leave you perpetually exhausted or resentful.

We also take time to explore ways to help you simply enjoy where you are right now rather than wishing this period in your life away (I wish she’d learn to sit up, I wish he’d feed himself, I wish she were potty trained, I wish he could buckle himself up, I wish we didn’t have to take the stroller, I wish he were old enough to tie his shoes, I wish she’d cook her own meals, I wish he’d drive himself to practice..) If you climb to the top of the mountain (in the case of family, when your kids leave home) but you haven’t enjoyed the climb, then it wasn’t a successful climb. Here you’ll gain insight into how to savor each day, for all that it is and for all that it is not. The program concludes with your commitment to practice being fully present for your children - a priceless gift that costs nothing and can be given again and again and again.
